How to Use Exelon (Rivastigmine)?

For Exelon Capsules:

  • Dosage: Start with a low amount as directed by your doctor, usually 1.5 mg twice daily. After at least two weeks, the dose may be increased to the maximum suggested level, depending on your response and tolerance.
  • Administration: Take the capsules twice a day, with meals in the morning and evening. Swallow the tablets whole, with water.
  • Consistency: To maintain an even level of medication in your blood, take it at the same time every day.

For Exelon Patches:

  • Application: Every 24 hours, apply one patch to clean, dry, hairless skin on the upper or lower back, upper arm, or chest. To avoid skin irritation, rotate the application location regularly.
  • Procedure: Remove the patch’s liner and press it firmly into place for about 30 seconds, making sure there is good contact, particularly around the edges.
  • Replacement: Remove the previous patch before applying the new one. Fold the used patch in half, sticky sides together, and dispose of it properly, away from children and pets.
